Principal's Message

Angie Olliver, PrincipalDear GLA Families,

Welcome to Glenwood Leadership Academy! We are so pleased that you have selected GLA for the education of your children. Because we strongly believe in our partnership with parents and families, please know we are here to both serve and support you and your children moving forward as members of our GLA family.

Our mission is to inspire and empower our Bullpups through innovative instruction and meaningful relationships to help them REACH their full potential. With this mission in mind, we strive every day to provide a high quality and equitable education that prepares our students for high school, college, and the workplace. We are committed to meeting the needs of the WHOLE child by providing a 360 degree wrap around support system that focuses on creating a safe and positive learning environment while also providing rigorous learning opportunities for all students. We believe EVERY child has the potential to achieve greatness and we pledge our commitment to your child’s success here at GLA.

As we begin this school year, we know that our recent circumstances probably raise concerns for many of you. As your principal, I want to reassure you that our team has spent countless hours working and collaborating to create the safest and most positive learning environment possible for our students and families. In order to promote safety and social distancing, we are requiring all staff, students, and visitors to wear a face mask when entering the building. We have added grade level sections, rearranged classrooms and revised procedures to follow CDC guidelines and allow for social distancing. Whether we are physically in school or virtually learning at home, each student will have a personal technology device assigned to them. In the event the community health guidelines require learning from home, devices will be sent home for student use.

We hope our website provides you with the information you need to help your family have a positive school experience this year. Please refer to our re-opening website for specific questions on recent changes. Should you need additional support, please know that you can always contact our school office and request to speak to a teacher or member of our support staff.

TOGETHER we are...Building CommUNITY...One Bullpup at a Time!

Take care and stay healthy,

Angie Oliver
