Walk into any classroom at any grade level in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, and you will find a host of different types of technological learning tools in use. The EVSC utilizes a one-to-one netbook initiative in all sixth through 12th grade classrooms. All classrooms in the EVSC employs the use of interactive white boards along with enhanced audio systems to ensure all students hear teachers clearly, as well as document readers that can be displayed on the interactive white boards.

Since 2009, the EVSC has equipped students with netbooks and now laptops, to use as learning tools and innovation guides, teaching them the basics of digital responsibility and use of computer programs, but more importantly, how to delve deeply into subject matter. With the use of computing devices, students in grades six through 12 are investigating material, creating digital presentations, conducting interviews online and so much more.  Even at the elementary level, classrooms are equipped with a variety of devices for use in the school.

The 1:1 Initiative: 1:1 means that each student has their own device, to use at school, and at home. The initiative engages students in learning and provides teachers with a powerful tool to bring learning to life.
